Payward Files for Stock-Linked Perpetual Futures on Kraken

Payward has filed plans with U.S. regulators for perpetual futures tied to individual company shares. Through its Bitnomial exchange and clearinghouse, Kraken's parent wants to begin with contracts referencing 10 stocks, including Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Tesla and Palantir. The products would give eligible U.S. traders a way to take long or short price exposure without purchasing the underlying shares.
The proposed contracts have no fixed expiration date. Like crypto perpetual futures, they would use a funding mechanism intended to keep the contract price close to the referenced stock. Payward is working toward trading for 24 hours on five days of the week, with a longer-term goal of extending availability further. Its September 18 filing is part of that process rather than confirmation that the markets are open.
Bitnomial would provide the exchange and clearing infrastructure for the planned products, while Kraken would offer access through its trading platform. The company says it has filed applicable exchange rules and product terms with the CFTC and SEC and continues to work on the final market structure. That is particularly relevant when the underlying shares trade on a conventional schedule while the proposed futures could trade outside ordinary stock-market hours.
Stock-linked perpetuals would broaden Kraken's derivatives menu and extend a structure popular in crypto to single-company exposure. The initial 10-stock list also gives regulators and customers a narrow starting set. Timing, approved trading hours and final terms remain open, and those details will determine how closely the product resembles the always-available crypto contracts traders already know.
