Renzo Protocol has rebranded as Renzo Finance and introduced a broader strategy for onchain investment products. Its first addition, Renzo Basis, is launching on Hyperliquid with initial support for BTC and HYPE, extending the project's activities beyond the restaking products that previously defined its business.

The product automates a strategy combining a spot purchase with an equivalent short position in perpetual futures. The paired positions are intended to reduce directional exposure, while funding payments provide the targeted income. Its economics therefore differ from holding a token and relying on its price to rise.

Renzo says the system uses Hyperliquid agent wallets to execute and monitor trades while users retain custody. It includes configurable controls for hedging, yield conditions, and safety buffers. The company said the automation does not currently use artificial intelligence, separating the product's trading logic from AI-based decision-making.

Support for additional assets with both spot and perpetual markets is planned, alongside expansion to other venues. For BTC and HYPE users, the immediate development is access to an automated paired-position strategy. Future additions remain part of the roadmap, while funding conditions will shape the product's actual income.
