Bitwise opens U.S. NEAR exposure with NRR ETF launch

Bitwise launched its NEAR exchange-traded product on September 29, bringing direct exposure to the blockchain’s native token to U.S. brokerage accounts. Trading began on NYSE Arca under the ticker NRR, with a management fee of 0.75%. The launch expands Bitwise’s range of individual cryptocurrency funds and creates another access point for investors who prefer listed securities to holding tokens through a wallet or cryptocurrency exchange.
The fund holds NEAR directly and intends to use Bitwise’s institutional team to stake its tokens. Staking supports transaction validation on the network and generates rewards that accrue within the fund. The structure therefore combines exposure to NEAR’s market price with participation in its blockchain economics. Investors trade fund shares through the stock market, while custody and staking operations are managed within the product’s institutional infrastructure.
The debut followed a strong period for NEAR, which had gained approximately 167% over the previous month and traded near $4.94 on September 29. Bitwise highlighted activity on NEAR Intents, the network’s cross-chain transaction system, alongside its interest in artificial intelligence applications. Those themes provide the commercial narrative behind the fund, although a product launch alone does not establish how much new investor demand it will attract.
For Bitwise, NRR extends a NEAR franchise that already included a European exchange-traded product. For the token’s market, the important measures now include fund creations and redemptions, trading liquidity and the amount of NEAR held or staked by the vehicle. These figures will show whether the additional brokerage access translates into sustained investment flows beyond the rally that preceded the launch and its initial market attention.
