Ripple expanded its relationship with Brevan Howard on October 6, announcing that Ripple Prime will provide multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing and financing services to funds managed by the investment group. Brevan Howard manages approximately $35 billion for institutional investors. The agreement gives Ripple another institutional customer for a business designed to connect traditional and digital asset markets through a shared operating platform.
The relationship extends beyond a new service contract. Funds associated with Brevan Howard participated in Ripple’s $500 million strategic investment round in 2025. Ripple Prime developed from Ripple’s acquisition of institutional broker Hidden Road, bringing brokerage and financing capabilities into the company’s broader financial infrastructure offering. The expanded agreement therefore connects an existing investor relationship with the practical use of services supporting trading, collateral and settlement across multiple asset classes.
Prime brokers help investment firms manage trading relationships and financing across different venues. Combining those functions can affect how efficiently a fund uses collateral and monitors its exposures. That is particularly relevant when strategies span markets with different operating hours and settlement arrangements. Brevan Howard said it expects the platform to improve operational ease and capital efficiency, putting those functions at the center of the commercial rationale for the expanded relationship.
For Ripple, the deal strengthens its position in institutional services alongside payments and custody. It provides a concrete example of a large investment manager using infrastructure supplied by a company rooted in digital finance. The announcement does not disclose contract revenue or trading volumes. Those operating measures would establish the scale of the relationship more clearly, while the agreement itself demonstrates demand for brokerage services that bridge conventional and cryptocurrency market activity.
