Tether and Fasanara Capital have launched StableFund with $400 million in combined sponsor commitments. The evergreen private credit vehicle aims to attract up to $3 billion in additional institutional capital and use stablecoin infrastructure to support lending connected to businesses and consumers across international markets.
Fasanara will manage investments through its fintech lending network, focusing on short-duration, asset-backed credit. Tether will act as a co-sponsor, originator, and adviser, sourcing USDT-linked opportunities and supplying settlement infrastructure. The division gives one partner responsibility for investment management and the other a role in sourcing and payments.
The strategy is intended to reach lending platforms operating in more than 60 countries. It targets financing needs that conventional channels do not fully serve, including those of smaller businesses. The $3 billion figure is a fundraising objective; it is distinct from the sponsors' initial $400 million commitment.
The launch extends stablecoin use into the movement of lending capital, beyond exchange balances and direct payments. Its progress will depend on loan origination, underwriting, and outside investor participation. Faster settlement may support the strategy, but the underlying activity remains the selection and financing of borrowers.
