Paxos brings USDG to Arbitrum with DeFi liquidity plans

Paxos’ Global Dollar stablecoin launched natively on Arbitrum One on October 6, adding another network to USDG’s distribution. Arbitrum also joined the Global Dollar Network, connecting the blockchain with the commercial framework supporting the token. USDG had approximately $3.09 billion in circulation when the launch was reported. The expansion gives users and applications on Arbitrum another dollar-denominated asset for trading, lending, collateral and transfers within its ecosystem.

The announced integrations include Fluid, Morpho, GMX and Maple. Kraken will support deposits and withdrawals, while Stargate will provide transfers between Arbitrum and other networks. Native issuance means the token is created directly on Arbitrum rather than existing solely as a bridged representation from another blockchain. That distinction affects the routes through which liquidity enters the network and the infrastructure users depend on when moving balances between venues.

A separate ArbitrumDAO proposal would make USDG growth a strategic objective and add 100 million ARB to an incentive program supporting adoption. It also proposes deploying treasury assets to support liquidity. Those measures are governance proposals, separate from the completed stablecoin launch. Incentive terms and any final approval would influence how capital is distributed among applications and whether the programs produce sustained trading and lending activity after the initial support is spent.

For Paxos, the rollout expands USDG’s addressable market through another large blockchain ecosystem. For Arbitrum applications, it adds a stablecoin with planned exchange and protocol connections. The most informative market measures will be circulating USDG on Arbitrum, available liquidity and actual use across the named integrations. Those figures will show whether network expansion attracts new activity or primarily redistributes supply that was previously concentrated on other blockchains.
