AuraGreen (AGC) Switches On Its First Community Solar Farm

AuraGreen, the eco-focused crypto project behind the AGC token.
First token-funded solar farm went live this month. The farm covers 12 hectares outside the town of Évora, Portugal. According to the project, its 18,000 panels can power about 4,000 homes.
The launch is the first test of AuraGreen’s core idea. Holders stake AGC into a “Green Pool,” and the pool helps fund renewable energy sites. In return, stakers get a share of the energy credits those sites produce. The credits are recorded on-chain and can be traded or retired.
“People keep asking us for proof that a green token can do something physical,” said Mara Lindqvist, AuraGreen’s head of operations. “Now there’s a field of panels you can drive past. Every kilowatt-hour it produces shows up on the dashboard within minutes.”
The project also launched a public “Impact Tracker” on its website. It shows live output, carbon offset estimates and the number of wallets in the pool. On launch day the tracker counted more than 9,000 active stakers, which the team says is double the figure of a month earlier.
Not everyone is convinced. Energy analyst Tomás Reyes warned that tokenized energy projects still face regulatory questions in many countries. “Turning megawatts into tokens is the easy part,” he said. “Proving to auditors and regulators that the two stay matched over years is the hard part.”
AuraGreen says an independent audit of the Évora site will be published before the end of the year. Two more sites, one wind and one hydro, are in planning.
For now, the community is excited. The project’s forums filled up with photos of the panels and one message repeated over and over: “Proof of green.”
