Ripple and SettleMint Combine Custody and Token Issuance Tools

Ripple and SettleMint have formed a partnership bringing Ripple Custody together with SettleMint's Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform, aimed at banks and regulated institutions in Asia Pacific.
Ripple and SettleMint have formed a partnership to provide banks and other regulated institutions in Asia Pacific with a combined service for tokenized assets. Their arrangement brings Ripple Custody together with SettleMint's Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform. The companies want customers to manage issuance, custody, compliance and later servicing through a connected workflow instead of assembling each piece independently.
SettleMint's platform is designed for institutions creating and operating digital versions of real-world assets. Ripple contributes infrastructure for safeguarding those assets and controlling access to them. Combining the two is intended to help a bank handle the entire life of a tokenized instrument, from creation and permissions through transfers and ongoing administration. The companies say the platform can support institutions working under regulated operating requirements.
SettleMint says its software is used in production and pre-production programs across multiple regions. That establishes experience with the technology, but the September announcement did not identify a new Asia Pacific bank going live with the combined offering. Ripple has separately expanded its custody business through integrations and acquisitions, giving it a broader set of tools that could be deployed alongside this partnership.
For a financial institution, the question is whether the integrated service reduces coordination between custody providers, token software and compliance teams. The partnership offers one proposed answer, with each company responsible for a distinct part of the workflow. Customer deployments will show which asset types it supports in practice and how the companies divide responsibility once tokenized instruments begin moving between counterparties.
