Fin.com, a New York payments startup, has emerged from stealth with a $20 million seed round led by Expa, the studio founded by Uber co-founder Garrett Camp. The financing closed in August and was disclosed in mid-September.

The company builds infrastructure that lets businesses convert stablecoins into money in local bank accounts and digital wallets. It says it already supports payouts in more than 30 countries and over 40 currencies, with an initial focus on South Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.

Coinbase Ventures, Tenet Fund, the founders of Figure, Mesh founder Bam Azizi, and Second Sight Ventures also invested, alongside family offices in the Gulf region and Africa. Fin.com was founded by Nabeel Alamgir and Mustafa Dar, who have linked the product to their own experience sending money across borders.

Stablecoins can move quickly between wallets. The difficult part is often delivering the final amount into local currency where recipients spend it. Fin.com's growth will depend on the reliability of its local payout partners and regulatory permissions in each market it serves.
